Our Mission

Abbott Architecture was established in 2019 by Rob Abbott to offer a design led, collaborative design service to individual clients and commercial organisations. With over 30 years post qualification experience in the UK construction sector, Rob has developed extensive skills across residential, therapeutic and commercial development sectors, with involvement in a number of award winning projects. We are located in Glasgow City Centre within the iconic Hatrack building, collaborating with Core Associates on High Quality Projects.

Residential Domestic Architecture.

We enjoy working closely with our clients in the design their new homes and in developing the modifications and extensions to their existing properties. We always strive to bring fresh ideas and vision to every project, where design solutions will be developed which are unique to each house and grounded in both location and context. Our designs are shaped by an understanding of our clients individual requirements and often exceed their expectations. We work with industry leading creative interior designers, engineers, landscape architects, cost consultants and contractors including specialist local manufacturers to produce affordable bespoke design solutions.

Residential House building, Social Housing & Historic Buildings

We have considerable experience in working closely with Commercial Residential House Builders, Private Rental Sector Developers and Social Housing Providers to create high quality sustainable and energy efficient modern homes. All stages of work can be provided from initial master planning, detailed design and preparation of high quality production information through to construction and completion on site. We are experienced in working on the restoration and adaptation of listed historic buildings within conservation settings providing sustainable creative design solutions.

Healthcare, Social & Community Sectors

We have extensive experience in working with Health Care Providers, NHS Trust and Community Sectors in the master planning and design of high quality therapeutic environments. We currently provide design services, advice and support to the following local charity organisations at The Hidden Gardens Trust, The Marie Trust and Sherbrooke Mosspark Church. We have experience in working with committees and arranging workshops to ensure that design solutions are a true representation of our clients requirements. We listen to our clients and develop solutions which provide cost effective answers.

Commercial & Retail Projects

We provide architectural services to a range of commercial retail clients across the country in both new-build and refurbishment schemes. We are currently supporting Porcelanosa UK providing high quality retail showroom and warehousing facilities to support their business expansion. In addition we have experience in designing Health and Hotel Projects including large scale master planning proposals for mixed use housing, PRS and commercial developments.

With over 30 years post Qualification experience in the UK construction industry, Rob has developed extensive skills and contacts across residential, therapeutic and commercial development sectors. Rob has been directly involved in a number of award winning projects in his role as Design director at macmon Architects and at Keppie Design. Abbott Architecture was established in 2019 by Rob to create a design led collaborative client focused design practice. We work with industry leading creative interior designers, inspirational architects, landscape designers, engineers and contractors including specialist local manufacturers to produce affordable bespoke design solutions. We work closely with Core Associates on a larger scale quality projects. Rob can also be found walking his dogs, swinging a tennis racket or out on his bike, recently completing every mile between Lands End and John O Groats raising funds for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice as part of an epic team of 7.
